Introduction to Radiofrequency Ablation
Radiofrequency ablation (RFA) is a minimally invasive treatment method that uses radiofrequency energy to generate localized high temperatures in the tumor, thereby inactivating the tumor in situ. During the RF ablation procedure, the target area temperature can be monitored in real time to ensure the safety and effectiveness of the procedure. Under the guidance of imaging equipment such as DSA, CT, or ultrasound, the RF ablation electrode needle is inserted into the tumor through percutaneous puncture. After being connected to the RF ablation device, the RF current generates high-speed ion vibrations and friction within the tumor tissue surrounding the electrode needle, generating heat. The tumor is engulfed in flames, undergoing coagulative necrosis and ultimately inactivating the tumor in situ .

 

Radiofrequency ablation process

1. Under the guidance of imaging equipment (such as CT), percutaneous puncture is performed and the electrode needle is inserted into the tumor.

2. Connect the radiofrequency ablation device and energize the tumor according to the program and duration set before the operation.

3. Review imaging to ensure that the tumor is engulfed by "flames" and coagulative necrosis occurs
