Proton Therapy Center

The Proton Therapy Center is planned and developed in alignment with internationally recognized gold standards for proton therapy. By integrating clinical facilities, advanced medical equipment, and a highly specialized multidisciplinary team, the Center has established a comprehensive and modern platform that combines proton and radiation therapy, diagnostic imaging, and inpatient care into a unified treatment system.

The Center comprises a Proton and Radiation Therapy Unit, an Advanced Imaging Diagnostics Center, and dedicated proton/radiation therapy wards, ensuring an efficient, seamless, and patient-centered care pathway. It is equipped with South China’s first Varian ProBeam® Proton Therapy System, along with state-of-the-art linear accelerators and Gamma Knife technology, representing the forefront of precision radiation oncology.

Deeply integrated with the hospital’s Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) care model, the Proton Therapy Center delivers highly individualized and evidence-based treatment strategies. It is particularly dedicated to the precise radiotherapeutic management of head and neck cancers, pediatric tumors, and tumors located in anatomically complex or critical regions. By maximizing tumor control while minimizing radiation exposure to surrounding healthy tissues, the Center aims to redefine standards in oncologic radiotherapy and contribute to the advancement of precision cancer treatment in Asia.

Internationalization of diagnosis and treatment programs

In strict accordance with the guidelines of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) of the Unit ed States, the guidelines for diagnosis and treatment of CSCO in China and the guidelines for radiotherapy of MD Anderson Cancer Center, a series of operational guidelines in line with international standards were formulated, including pre-treatment assessment, radiotherapy planning, radiotherapy implementation and radiotherapy safety culture.

Remote diagnosis and treatment cooperation network

Remote diagnosis and treatment cooperation network All patients receiving treatment in the proton center will receive international consultation from Mayo Clinic, and patients can get the most advanced treatment advice without going overseas, so as to truly realize "global wisdom, landing in China".

Category of diagnosis and treatment

Proton therapy is suitable for all groups suitable for radiotherapy, and most solid tumors without metastasis in other parts of the body can achieve greater benefits by proton therapy. For example, skull base tumors, nasopharyngeal carcinoma, lung cancer, prostate cancer, liver cancer, nervous system tumors and so on, especially for tumors growing in complex locations, such as eye and skull base tumors, are more accurate than traditional radiotherapy.
