Deep Integration of Medical Care, Wellness, and Tourism: A Strategic Partnership Guangzhou Regal International Cancer Center and Knowledge City Commercial Development Group Join Forces to Build a New Benchmark for the Sino-Singapore Knowledge City Interna

Spring tides surge, and all things turn toward renewal. At the historical intersection where the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area development advances in depth and the "Healthy China" strategy is being comprehensively implemented, Guangzhou Regal International Cancer Center welcomes another significant milestone in international medical cooperation. On April 1, Guangzhou Regal International Cancer Center and Knowledge City (Guangzhou) Business & Tourism Development Group Co., Ltd. formally signed a strategic cooperation agreement. Centered on the integrated development concept of "Medical Care, Wellness, and Tourism," both parties will collaborate to develop the Sino-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City International Wellness Community project, jointly exploring new paradigms for international healthcare services.

As the International Medical & Wellness Base of the Sino-Singapore Knowledge City, Guangzhou Regal International Cancer Center has long been dedicated to the international medical field, providing high-quality oncology diagnosis, treatment, and health management services to patients from over 30 countries and regions worldwide, accumulating extensive experience in cross-border medical collaboration. This strategic signing marks another key milestone in Regal's international development journey, following successive visits and exchanges with the Consulates General of Pakistan and Nepal in Guangzhou. It signifies the hospital's transformative leap from a single medical service platform to a comprehensive service ecosystem encompassing "Medical Care + Wellness + Cultural Tourism."

In his speech, Director Lin Dongyong pointed out that Huangpu District is fully committed to building an "International Medical Destination," with the core lying in resource integration and system construction. He proposed the international medical construction approach of "one alliance, one service center, one service system, and a batch of preferential policies," emphasizing that hospitals should focus on core medical services while state-owned enterprises undertake logistics and support facilities, jointly constructing a full-cycle health service system.

General Manager Peng Yuemei and Deputy General Manager Zheng Weining introduced that Knowledge City Group has deep roots in business travel, hotels, apartments, cultural tourism, and other sectors, possessing abundant carrier resources and operational experience. This in-depth cooperation with Regal Hospital will be oriented toward the integration of "Medical Care, Wellness, and Tourism," creating an "International Friendly Wellness Community with 15-minute full coverage." They hope to enhance regional medical service branding and influence through this integration of medical care, wellness, and tourism.

Chairman Li Min highly endorsed the "Medical Care + Wellness + Cultural Tourism" integration direction, noting that experiences from countries like Thailand are worth learning from. Addressing issues such as insufficient international patient awareness and incomplete service systems, Regal Hospital has already established a solid foundation. The next step involves plans to set up an international medical reception window at Baiyun Airport, exploring customs facilitation and humanized services. Meanwhile, regarding the layered needs of group travelers, he suggested gradually refining service standards through pilot programs to form a replicable international medical wellness service model.

Medical Care, Wellness, and Tourism:

Building a Full-Cycle Service System

According to the agreement, both parties will leverage existing medical resources and cultural tourism carriers in the Sino-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City to jointly develop an international wellness community project centered on the integrated development concept of "Medical Care, Wellness, and Tourism." The project will use Regal Hospital's medical technology as the core and Knowledge City Commercial Development Group's hotels, apartments, shopping malls, exhibitions, and cultural tourism scenic spots as carriers to construct a full-cycle health service system covering "Prevention—Treatment—Rehabilitation—Chronic Disease Management."

As the International Medical & Wellness Base of the Sino-Singapore Knowledge City, Regal Hospital will be responsible for core medical technical support, including organizing experts to provide remote consultations and rehabilitation counseling, offering convenient services such as health screening, priority appointments, and green channels for follow-up visits to resident patients, and jointly developing integrated product packages such as "Postoperative Rehabilitation Package" and "Full-Cycle International Patient Service Package."

Knowledge City Commercial Development Group will coordinate non-medical service resources, including providing hotels/apartments, Second Neighborhood, convention centers, and tourism scenic spots as carriers to create "A Second Living Room at the Hospital Doorstep." They will develop supporting services such as wellness-themed dining, traditional Chinese medicine rehabilitation, psychological support, and cultural tourism experiences. A "International Wellness Service Center" will be established in the Second Neighborhood, equipped with multilingual accompanying staff to provide one-stop services from airport pick-up and drop-off, in-hospital care to visa processing and insurance coordination.

Both parties will also jointly promote the establishment of a third-party professional service platform to undertake patient services, visa processing, insurance coordination, cross-border medical settlement, and other functions, enhancing the project's professional operational capabilities.

Poised for Launch:

Rooted in Knowledge City, Serving Global Health

Professor Li Dinggang pointed out during exchanges that international medical care urgently needs to change the sporadic model of a single hospital or small number of patients visiting, to form scale effects. Huangpu District's exploration of promoting international medical care through resource integration can be called "a nationally leading ecological system construction." He emphasized that service details determine success or failure, suggesting that service processes be gradually improved based on actual cases, so that every international patient can experience warm and high-quality medical wellness services.

The achievement of this strategic cooperation represents not only the complementary advantages of resources and capabilities between the two institutions but also a positive practice in building an industrial ecosystem of "Medical Care, Wellness, and Tourism." In the future, both parties will take the "Sino-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City International Wellness Community" as a platform to continuously deepen cooperation, promoting Chinese technology, Chinese services, and Chinese standards to the world, contributing wisdom and strength to building a global community of health for all.

From in-depth interactions with countries along the Belt and Road such as Pakistan and Nepal, to strategic partnership with Knowledge City Commercial Development Group, Regal Hospital is steadily forging a distinctive path of international medical care. On the journey toward "Healthy China 2035," on this hot land of reform and opening-up in Guangdong, Regal will always uphold its medical original aspiration, jointly writing a new chapter in international medical health with partners from all walks of life.
