Crossing the Himalayas, Embracing Health Together | Nepalese Consulate General in Guangzhou Visits Royal Lee Hospital, Charting a New Blueprint for International Medical Cooperation

Where the Pearl River surges and spring fills Lingnan. On this land that has witnessed the miracles of reform and opening-up, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area is thriving with development, and the "Healthy China" strategy is being deeply implemented. At this very moment, Guangzhou Royal Lee Hospital is adding a vibrant chapter to this era through a high-level international dialogue.

April 1 — Consul General Mr. Bharat Khanal, Consul Mr. Saroj Bhattarai, Consulate Secretary Ms. Liang Yanna from the Nepalese Consulate General in Guangzhou, and Dr. Janak L. Pathak, doctoral supervisor at Guangzhou Medical University, visited our hospital for inspection and exchange. Mr. Lin Dongyong, Secretary of the Party Group and Director of the Huangpu District Health Bureau, attended the event in person to discuss medical cooperation with the visiting guests and exchange insights on the development of regional international medical services.

This was not merely a friendly cross-border visit, but a vivid embodiment of the Greater Bay Area's practice of the "Belt and Road" initiative in the medical field and its exploration of innovative international medical service models.

What We Showed

The International Appeal of a Garden-Style Hospital

Accompanied by hospital representatives, the delegation toured the International Medical Center, cutting-edge diagnostic and treatment equipment, and rehabilitation wards.

With lush courtyard landscapes and a diagnostic space that blends modern technology with humanistic care, this JCI-accredited medical institution has broken away from traditional hospital stereotypes with its unique "garden-style" healthcare environment. The efficient operation of the multidisciplinary team (MDT) model and the practical application of precision medicine technologies also drew frequent stops from the guests, who sought to learn more about our practices.

Consul General Bharat Khanal noted in the exchange that as a "Belt and Road" partner, Nepal and China have increasingly close exchanges in the healthcare sector. However, domestic cancer prevention and treatment resources in Nepal remain insufficient, and the demand for high-quality medical services among the population is urgent. "Royal Lee Hospital's outstanding advantages in oncology have shown us broad prospects for cooperation," he said. He suggested that both sides could pursue practical cooperation across multiple dimensions, including academic seminars, joint talent cultivation, and institutional exchanges.

Chairman Li Min pointed out that the Consul General's visit represents high recognition of the hospital's international medical service capabilities and provides a valuable opportunity to deepen medical cooperation with Nepal and South Asia. "We very much look forward to using this visit as a starting point to establish a long-term communication mechanism with the Nepalese Consulate General in Guangzhou. Royal Lee is willing to fully leverage its advantages in oncology specialization, international service standards, and cross-border resource integration to provide high-quality, convenient medical and wellness services for patients from Nepal and South Asia, allowing more international friends to share in the achievements of China's high-quality medical development."

A Promising Future

Building a Health Silk Road with Medical Benevolence

This visit marks another milestone in Royal Lee's international journey. From cultivating regional high-end medical services, to serving patients from 30 countries worldwide, to becoming an important node in "Belt and Road" medical cooperation — this path of advancement witnesses the elevation of a hospital's vision and reflects the pioneering depth of Guangdong's international medical services.

Looking ahead, Royal Lee will use the China-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City International Medical and Wellness Base as a fulcrum to continuously export Chinese technology, Chinese services, and Chinese standards. Whether in frontier exploration of cancer prevention and treatment, cross-border cultivation of medical talent, or innovative integration of the wellness industry, Royal Lee will embrace the world with an open attitude and serve humanity with professional strength. In the era's proposition of building a global community of health for all, we will write the answer that belongs to medical professionals — this is both Royal Lee's mission and the solemn commitment of Lingnan medicine as it goes global.

Exchange of commemorative gifts

From the banks of the Pearl River to the foot of the Himalayas, distance cannot block medical professionals' reverence for life, and time differences cannot dilute patients' longing for health. When Royal Lee's benevolent medicine meets Nepal's sincere expectations, a "Health Silk Road" spanning mountains and seas is slowly unfolding.
