Institutions Join Hands to Cultivate Talent: Follow-Up Visits Focus on Enhancement

On November 5, 2025, a warm and meaningful internship follow-up symposium was successfully held at Guangzhou Royal Lee Cancer Hospital, carrying the shared spirit of institutional partnership and educational commitment.A delegation led by Ye Hualiang, Executive Director of Academic Quality at the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine of Zhanjiang University of Science and Technology, and Chen Zhiyong, Deputy Secretary-General of the Guangdong Provincial Ethnic Medicine Association, visited as scheduled to gain in-depth understanding of the interns' progress and development.The symposium served not only as a reflective review of past internship collaborations but also as a vital opportunity to deepen cooperation and jointly map out a new blueprint for collaborative talent development.


Ms. Ma Lanying, Vice President of Guangzhou Royal Lee Cancer Hospital, extended a warm welcome to the guests and summarized the interns' performance during their training.Vice President Ma spoke highly of the students' professionalism and proactive attitude demonstrated throughout their internship.She also addressed key concerns and expressed sincere hopes for further collaboration with the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, aiming to jointly advance in talent cultivation, teaching, and scientific research, thereby nurturing more outstanding professionals for the development of traditional Chinese medicine.


Ye Hualiang, Executive Director of Academic Quality, elaborated on the university's educational philosophy during his speech, highlighting its efforts and achievements in fostering students' practical skills and innovative spirit.He expressed heartfelt gratitude for the hospital's dedication in mentoring interns and shared his optimism for future collaboration, believing that continued partnership would provide students with broader development opportunities and elevate the university's educational quality.


Tang Haibo, Director of the Medical Education Department, provided a detailed overview of the hospital's efforts in designing internship programs, managing the training process, and ensuring living conditions, offering a comprehensive picture of the interns' experience.


During the interactive session, department leaders including Yan Sumei, Director of the Pharmacy Department, and Lü Huimin, Director of the Laboratory Medicine Department, shared their insights.
They exchanged experiences and reflections on internship arrangements, mentorship, and logistical support, while also attentively gathering feedback and suggestions from both the interns and university representatives.


Intern representatives shared their respective gains, reflections, and personal growth during the internship period.They recounted their journey from initial unfamiliarity with professional skills to current proficiency, and from a vague understanding of hospital operations to a deeper comprehension of the healthcare industry. Each story, filled with touching moments and growth, earned warm applause from the audience.


University representatives actively participated in the discussion, exploring ways to further optimize the internship program and strengthen collaboration. The exchange sparked insightful ideas and provided new directions for future cooperation.


As the meeting drew to a close, a solemn and meaningful plaque-awarding ceremony was held.Leaders from the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine of Zhanjiang University of Science and Technology presented Guangzhou Royal Lee Cancer Hospital with the "Excellence in Internship Training" plaque.This not only recognizes the hospital’s outstanding performance in internship training but also marks a significant milestone in the partnership between the two institutions.
