Thermal Perfusion Therapy

Indications for thermal perfusion therapy.
1.Gastrointestinal tumors, such as gastric cancer and colorectal cancer, that may have broken through the outermost plasma membrane layer of the gastrointestinal tract, but has not formed intra-abdominal metastases.

2.Distant metastasis to abdominal cavity, such as metastasis to abdominal wall, peritoneum, intestinal mesentery and greater omentum. The patient can receive thermal perfusion chemotherapy following the shrink of metastasis to resist the development of tumor. Some patients have experienced fluid buildup (ascites) due to intra-abdominal metastasis. Through thermal perfusion therapy, the ascites will be effectively controlled.

3.Gynecological tumors such as ovarian cancer. The tricky part for patients with advanced ovarian cancer is that they will experience huge amount of ascites. When the removal of both ovaries is completed, abdominal thermal perfusion chemotherapy will help them get better control of ascites.

The competitiveness of thermal perfusion therapy:
The growth of tumor cells is effectively inhibited by thermal infusion of therapeutic drugs with the heat cycle of 42℃-45℃. The peritoneal barrier in human’s peritoneal cavity enables an easy entry of chemotherapy drugs into the cells because thermal circulation can change the osmotic pressure and permeability of cells.

The abdominal thermal circulation in abdominal cavity flows through the portal vein into the liver and to thw whole body, and the metastatic pathway of abdominal tumor is also the same. So the therapy can makes for a better treatment tool that effectively stops the spread of tumor.
